Den Hellige Salamander

FeaturesThe story behind. The Lucky Salamander is a project that promotes the conservation of animals in natural environments within urban spaces. After a group of salamanders was found in 2022 in Lynderud gård the MiA museum in Akershus decided to collaborate with the initiative called "Nærmijøskolen" within the Lynderud school program and the municipality of Bydel Bjerke.
In 2021, a year before this collaboration was carried out within "Nærmijøskolen" and MIA Musseum, the museum donated a piece of land at Linderudgård after recieving a grant to promote the creation of creative spaces in nature where we created the "Garden of the senses" a space in which we celebrate the salamander founded in Lynderud gård. In this plot we invite musicians and other artists to share their art with nature in a performative space like no other.
Nærmiljøskolen and the artist Eliana Vero collaborated for four months with two teachers and eight students between the ages of 14 and 16 to create the design and staging of a graffiti in a school space. The pedagogy applied in this project is to bring ideas into reality. The result of this collaboration has promoted meeting spaces where different cultures and times shared the experience of design and painting. The result in 2022 has been 27 meters of salamadra in graffiti format. Mural made in the Lynderud school at the confluence of the roads between the school, Lynderud senter and Lynderud gård.
