FeaturesThe story behind. In 2022, a collaboration was carried out within "Nærmijøskolen" and MIA Musseum. The exercise during this collaboration with four teachers and fourty kids consisted on creating a poem with leet language in relation to human rights, sustainability or the environment in the Linderud area. The result was presented to the general public on the glass walls of Demo Linderud as a hologram on December 9th 2022.

Poetry

The word poetry comes from Greek ποιέω (poieo), "I create", poem comes from German dicht, "close" and verse from Latin versus, "turn".

 

Leet language

Leet or Leetspeak is an alternative alphabet used mainly by young video gamers and online participants from around the world and it is about combinations of numbers, letters and other characters instead of the ordinary letters. The origin of the name comes from the slang Leet, which comes from the word Elite. One also often writes leet as L33T or 1337, which are leetspeak versions of the word leet. Many would also call leetspeak the official computer language. The language has been named leet (elite) because those who used it at the beginning saw themselves as such.

 

The Leet language was originally the computer hackers' own written language in the 1980s which they could communicate without anyone else understanding it, but today is used by millions of players every day. The language has also had an influence on the daily language among Norwegian youth, primarily the word noob is a slang for the word newbie which means beginner.

 

The Leet language uses the number 0 instead of the letter O , 7 instead of T, 1 instead of I,... etc.
